gamespy.com had a chat with the main man behind the Dungeon Siege franchise. Chris Taylor talks about Dungeon Siege II and what exactly is going to make the second game stand out. A small clipping from the article:Chris Taylor: We call these exotic new creatures pets. You can buy these and develop them by feeding them different items you find in the world. For example, you can buy a Fire Elemental pet that is specifically geared towards parties who want to do a lot of fire damage and have a heavy fire resistance. By feeding the pet items, players will have some control over the way the creature's stats grow so that pets can be transformed to fit the players' needs. Head on over to this page for the rest of the two page article.

I spyed upon Shack News that a German site has obtained some new, legit (not magazine scans), Half-Life II screenshots. Since I can't read German I don't know what the blazes they're saying on the site but these screenshots look damned cool! Now might be a good time to play some of the first Half-Life to warm up for the second game.

Theres a smoldering new preview for Bloodrayne II on computergaming.com. From the preview itself, here is a snippage:Majesco product manager Liz Buckley concedes that the original game was disjointed and more than a little unpolished. "But," Buckley says, "we're looking to address these points—and more—in the sequel." After seeing BloodRayne 2 in action, we tend to think they've succeeded. For the rest of the vampiric preview follow the trail of blood to this place right here.

HomeLan Fed posted up a Thief: Deadly Shadows interview with Nathan Regener and Warren Spector. Got a small snip of the interview for you to read right here:HomeLAN - When the time came to develop the third game in the series, what were the development team's main goals?
Nathan Regener - Our main goals were maintaining the fiction, feel and strong story of the first two games while presenting them in a modern game engine with up-to-date graphics, sounds and physics. Also we focused on producing an accessible, engrossing and entertaining experience. We didn’t want the interface to interfere with the game experience. So go forth, sneak into the murky shadows of HomeLan Fed and steal that valuable interview ... I mean read it.

ActionTrip posted up a preview of The Bard's Tale and anybody who's played many a RPG back in the earlier days of roleplaying oldschool style will probably recognise the title. Suffice to say inxile entertainment is bringing back the Bard in full 3d glory so to speak. Anyroad here is a clippage from the preview:The main character collects experience points and can advance a typical selection of attributes, like Strength, Vitality, Charisma and Dexterity. But there's one particular attribute we're really keen on - the so-called rhythm skill. In due time, and with lots and lots of practice, the bard can distribute exp. points to the rhythm skill, consequentially improving his ability to sing (and for God's sake let there be no hip-hop!). By leveling this particular skill, the bard will then be able to use his songs more effectively.
Looks like it should be a pretty interesting game once it gets completed. Lookin forward to playing the The Bard's Tale.

ign.com has a preview online for Brothers In Arms which is an upcoming World War II shooter being developed for Xbox, PS2 and PC by Gearbox Software. I went ahead and sneaked a clipping from the preview:After years of research, which involved sifting through over 100 crates in the National Historical Archive, interviewing veterans, studying air reconnaissance photos, and visiting Normandy, France, Brothers in Arms was ready for show. Set to ship this October for Xbox and PC and sometime later for PS2, Brothers in Arms is not just another World War II first-person shooter, but offers some nice improvements over what we've seen before. Looks like a fine game to me and since it's Gearbox developing the title I'm sure it's gonna be cool. Ooops nearly for the linkage for the preview.

It's cool to see that Kiltron updated the The Mean Arena with the news that he's finished anouther map for his Between Heaven and Hell project which is an unofficial Add-On that continues off where the original Heavy Metal Fakk2 left off. This new map is called The Road To Peril and it leads up to Tomb Of Dispair (previously released) so you can play through both of these levels continously. Kiltron has both these maps on his site for downloading so go get those if your into the Fakk2 gaming stuffage.

Far Cry just got itself reviewed again and this time around the review is on 2404. Here is a snipping from the review itself:The first thing you notice when you begin to play the game is how beautiful everything looks. From the plants, to the water, to the weapon and character models, it’s really a step up from any other game currently on the market. There is a large variety of plant life that is very thick throughout the game giving a very tropical/jungle like feel. Little details like bugs, birds, and fish are dispersed throughout most of the maps also adding to the realism. Sure sounds awesome from the review. I bought my copy a few weeks back and it's not one of those mega-priced titles either, so maybe you should get your copy today and get immersed in the tropical gaming environment.

ic-games.com has a review up for the PC game Breed. Here is a slice off the review:Breed is a squad based game, depending on the mission you get your group will consist of (usually) four units from the possible specialists. Snipers are your best bet for picking off small groups or heavy weapons operators. Medics hand out med packs to the injured grunts, while the Engineer does a similar job for mechanical units, fixing damaged vehicles. Heavy Gunners carry weapons such as the Atrocity a heavy machine gun, it also allows for other heavy weapons to be appropriated from vehicles. All units carry the standard assault rifle which includes a grenade launcher. So there you have it in full technocolor. Remember to check out the screenshots as well. Oh yeah, nearly forgot to post that the review is right here.

Gamespot has a cool preview of the upcoming Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicle. Here is a text slice of the preview:Lineage II uses the familiar high-fantasy setting found in most online role-playing games. There are five playable races, all based on traditional high fantasy, including humans, elves, dark elves, orcs, and dwarves. Naturally, each race looks and plays distinctively different from the others. Humans are the most-balanced race, while elves are weak in melee but are lightning fast. Orcs are the "tanks" of the game, so they're slow and lumbering but are powerful in combat. Finally, there are the dwarves, who aren't quick or powerful. Dwarves can't cast magic spells either, but they are the only race capable of crafting items. This MMORPG not only sounds cool but the screenshots look real nice as well. I haven't tried the beta myself but I know it's very popular. Anyways check out that preview if you so desire.
