Grand Theft Auto IV News Roundup
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:57 AM
Category: Action

I was just on digital spy and they have a couple GTA IV articles. The first one is Rockstar VP confused by violence complaints. Here is a snip:
There is nothing in the game you would not see in a TV show, or a movie a hundred times over, so I don't understand what the conversation is about. We set out to make games that felt like they could culturally exist alongside the movies we were watching and the books we were reading, and hopefully we're getting close to those goals.
Then we have Barack Obama Talks GTA IV where he says that games are raising kids. So enough with that.... I dug up some Grand Theft Auto IV reviews which turns out to be more interesting than what some politician has to say. Here are the Grand Theft Auto IV reviews on IGN, Worthplaying, Eurogamer, team xbox, videogamer and Gamespy.

Grand Theft Auto IV For The PC?
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:16 AM
Category: Action

The guys over on IGN are speculating on whether Grand Theft Auto IV will come to the PC or not. The game was, as we all know recently released for Xbox 360 and Ps3. The console community has been having a blast with the title and I can't see why they wouldn't eventually release a PC version of the game.
Steve Butts: At the most basic level, there's no way that Take Two or Rockstar are going to pass up the opportunity to extend the economic and critical success the game is enjoying by bringing it to the PC. I'm not sure how much it costs for them to port the title over, but I'm guessing it's far less than they'll make in sales.
So the question is: Will GTA IV Come to the PC?. Read more over there.....

Worthplaying put up seven Starcraft 2 Screenshots.
Designed to be the ultimate competitive real-time strategy game, StarCraft II will feature the return of the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg races, overhauled and re-imagined with Blizzard's signature approach to game balance. Each race will be further distinguished from the others, with several new units and new gameplay mechanics, as well as new abilities for some of the classic StarCraft units that will be making a reappearance in the game.
That is all on Worthplaying.

Next Prince Of Persia To Be Different Experience

Category: Action

Over on 1UP they put up an article concerning the next Prince Of Persia which is going to be really different from it's predecessors.
The worlds themselves are described as a combination of linear and sandbox style environments, with plenty of free-range exploration mixed up with special "assault courses" designed for those moments when the player's skills must be challenged in a specific way.
Read more over on 1UP.

Testing PCI Expess 2.0 Video Cards
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 12:34 PM
Category: Hardware

Due to a problem with the video card in my gaming rig, an article on Tom's Hardware where they tested various PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Cards caught my eye. The reason for my interest in this article is due to the information pertaining to compatibility with PCI Express 1.1..... in other words will a 2.0 card work in an older PCI Express motherboard?
All PCI Express 2.0 motherboards are compatible with PCI Express 1.1 graphics cards and vice versa, but you’ll need PCI Express 2.0 compliant hardware to benefit from automatic speed and link width adjustments. Our testing concentrates on testing PCI Express 2.0 solutions at all possible link widths.
Anyhow the article is worth reading if you need to know about this PCI Express 2.0 stuff.

 Pete Hines On Fallout 3

Category: Role Playing

Lets all take a visit to Gamasutra because they posted a Pete Hines Interview where the Marketing VP for Bethesda talks about the upcoming Fallout 3.
PH: Where are we... We are still in alpha, so right now we are in the part of the process where we are ripping things out, putting things in, fixing stuff that's in and making it better, or fixing stuff that's in and making it work better, with the goal that within the next couple of months, we're going to get the content complete where we stop adding or changing content, and just focus on fixing the game problems, the balance in the game, the relationships.
So yeah, check out that Pete Hines Interview.

Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 1:52 PM
Category: Role Playing

Worthplaying reported that the 1.7 patch / Tainted Blood add-on for Two Worlds is now available for download. By the way, this is a multiplayer add-on and another is coming sometime soon. Not sure if the 2nd will be singleplayer or not but it will be free as well.
Players can now go on the hunt for a crazy Necromancer, unsolve the mystery of a massacre in a woodcutters' camp, deal with a rebel knight (permanently) and lots more. The new add-on doesn't only give you a new series of Quests - it also opens up the doors to an all-new Business and Training Center! The town of Tharnburg offers you a large traders' district - and various arenas in which you can try out your newly-learned combat techniques right away.
You can grab the download right here. You can also get the download off of the tainted blood page.
