Kiltron sent us word that he's updated the The Mean Arena with the news that he's finished his latest Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (Deleted Scenes) mission that's titled, Runaway Trains. Here is what he has to say about it all: I started this mission the day I released my last mission, Terrorist Retaliation and this marks a new appearance of the GIGN in a Deleted Scenes mission. You take the role of a French GIGN operative where Terrorists have hijacked a transporter train that is shipping goods and military equipment through Basel, France. They are on a mission to launch a nuke over France killing everyone in the country. They have taken hostages, so you have to find and save them as well. There aren't too many games out there that let you play on dual moving trains navigating through each one to make it to the front. Good luck! The map is ready for download so hit The Mean Arena and get it.

Starwars.com has the news announcement posted up concerning the full title of the next Star Wars movie which is Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. The film is scheduled for release on May 19, 2005: The Sith are masters of the dark side of the Force and the sworn enemies of the Jedi. They were all but exterminated by the Jedi a thousand years ago, but the evil order continued in secrecy. They operated quietly, behind the scenes, acting in pairs - a Master and an Apprentice - patiently biding their time before they could take over the galaxy. In Episode III, they'll finally exact their revenge on the Jedi. I'm hoping this film will kick some serious butt and will tie everything together nicely.... Until May 2005 keep your lighsabers crossed. Oh yeah, here is the link to the article.

MSI’s GeForce 6800 Ultra 256MB Reviewed

Here's a hardware review for MSI’s GeForce 6800 Ultra 256MB video card. Here is a shot from the review: On the right hand side of the board, you can see two 4-pin Molex power connectors, which are needed to drive this high-powered GPU. nVidia recommends that each power plug come from a different power line from the power supply, and that the power supply itself be rated for 350W and higher operation. The dual power supply connectors will only be for the AGP 8x version of the 6800 Ultra board, as the upcoming PCI Express versions will have a custom 6-pin graphics card power connector. If you don't plug in the graphics card power plugs, you'll get a nice loud siren noise from the onboard speaker to the right. We found that out the hard way That's a nice board but can you afford one? Anyhow the GeForce 6800's are proclaimed the best for running Doom 3 as seen in this article. Hey Nvidia how about sending over one of those 6800 babies so I can review it running Doom 3.... yeah like that would happen.

It seems that NASA is about to launch a Craft to Begin a 6 1/2-Year Journey to Mercury, which will be the First Visit to the Planet in 30 Years. Remarkably, the only thing between the probe's room-temperature science instruments and the blistering sun and pizza-oven heat will be a handmade ceramic-cloth quilt just one-quarter of an inch thick. Check that out on ABC News.

Game Method has a review online for the PC version of The Suffering. Here is a small snack from the full meal:Properly equipping yourself is key to defeating the monsters that constantly attack Torque. The dark nature of the prison demands almost constant use of a flashlight that runs on batteries, which may be picked up throughout the game’s environments; additionally, bottles of Zombium, a prescription drug, enable you to heal any wounds Torque may suffer in his journey. Hit the The Suffering review for the full skinny on the game.

ign.com has a preview for Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault. Heres a fragment from the article: I jump aboard and man the .50 cal as we move in towards the beach. Tracers zip by as explosions rock the water around us. We're finally in sight of the beach when the boat sinks beneath us. Now we have to wade through a few hundred yards of surf and enemy fire as we make our way to the beach. Men are dying all around us but I manage to make it to the beach alive. Ok that sure sounds interesting! Read the full two page preview.

Spellforce: The Breath of Winter was reviewed on Games Xtreme. Here is a shot of text from the review itself: As in TOoD, the music and the look of the game are superb, and the maps are bigger and better than ever before. The landscapes – at least for the first five levels I’ve played so far – are muddy swamps and frozen wastes. There are new monsters to fight, and new Rune Warriors to recruit. You are plunged straight into the action of the new story line, involving the abduction of an ice elf queen by the Crimson Imperials; baddies to conjure dread as much as the fearsome Blades from TOoD. The reviewer gave the expansion pack to Spellforce: The Order of Dawn a good review.

Gamespot has a preview online for the next Medal Of Honor mission pack: Pacific Assault. So here is the complimentary quote from that preview: The demo began with Tommy and his squad being ushered ashore via transport boats. Many historians label this battle as the D-Day of the Pacific Theater, and from watching this sequence, it was easy to see why. Pure chaos unfolded around us as our transport chugged to shore, and frequent death precluded many of the transports’ ability to get to shore (as did a large reef, which, WWII buffs will recall, prevented all transports from actually making it to shore at all). As we moved toward the shore, we came upon a scuttled ship, which was occupied by a number of Japanese soldiers. Historically, this ship actually did exist, and it happened to belong to a former resident of the island. The Japanese army scuttled the ship themselves, pulling it away from shore to use it as a defense post. Once the Japanese saw us, we had to man a Gatling gun to take out all the soldiers and eventually blow up the ship. Hit this link to get the full preview of this cool mission pack.

Whining Dog.net has a review of the new Thermaltake Tsunami Dream Case. The case was very easy to work with when constructing a new system. The inside edges are well machined and having rounded corners always helps. This isn't a completely tool-less chassis but it comes close to being one. There are tab locks for all PCI/AGP expansion cards and there are drive rails for 5.25" drives. That is a nice looking case and id be tempted to order one if I was in need of a new case. Go have a look at that review.

Kreed Review On GamersEurope

On gamerseurope they have a review online for the FPS Kreed. Here is the essential snipping from the review:Kreed is set in an alternate universe some time in the future, it all gets a little trippy from this point on because it looks like the developers were chewing on some Scooby snacks whilst busily coding until the break of dawn. The game purports that the main character “Must find the answers to a number of crucial questions that deal with his immediate relation with danger-filled reality, as well as the risk of trying to understand his own self”. That’s kind of funny because when I was playing the game it seemed to be just about running around killing all the bad guys in your path, maybe I should have been listening to Radiohead in the background as I played. If you can look past the pretentious rant that accompanies the game, Kreed is pretty much a straight forward FPS: run around, shoot some enemies, collect the keys and be the hero. Well that sounds like one of those games you pick up after it comes down to dirt cheap prices for playing on some rainy day. Anyhow check out that Kreed Review.
