Well thats all been changed and they're not yet certain when the Demo will be ready... maybe sometime this month. Oh well, nobody knows. Meanwhile you can check out this other Dungeon Lords site as it has better screenshots than the official site (that first link above). Now we wait or in my case, go back to replaying Blade Of Darkness.

Can you tell I was poking around CNN? Anyhow here is a bit of interesting space news. It seems that European astronomers have found one of the smallest planets known outside our solar system. This new planet is about 14 times the mass of Earth and it orbits a star much like our Sun all of which is a measley 50 light years away. Of course the surface conditions on the planet are unknown, but they figure its a scorched hunk of rock that has a 10 day year. Sounds like a good setting for a Doom 3 map. Ok here is the link to that article.

1UP.com went and posted up a preview for the upcoming FPS: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. Here is a snip from the full article:It's a cliche to say this for every new first-person shooter that comes out, we know, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s got some killer graphics. The game runs on a custom engine devised by GSC Game World, a group of developers from the Ukraine, and our first impression is that it's at least Doom 3's equal when it comes to pretty, atmospheric effects. The abandoned city we played in was filled with neat little details, from the rotting roofs of buildings to a sky that very gradually shifted from day to dusk. Everything ran perfectly smoothly, and the controls (your standard keyboard-and-mouse jobbie) were also free of problems. It certainly does sound cool and should be interesting to play once it comes out.

GameZone Online has a preview written for Shade: Wrath of Angels:Your main weapon in Shade is a magical sword that you can upgrade as you progress through your journey. Using the sword, you can perform a variety of different combos in order to defeat your opponents. This can be achieved by charging the sword and pressing a combination of movement buttons. While you do have access to a few ranged weapons (like a gun or a crossbow), the main focus of the combat system is melee combat. Slated for an October release, it's an action-horror game being developed by Black Element.

According to both WorthPlaying and Blues News the playstation.com site updated its listing for Prince Of Persia 2 from the '2' to 'Warrior Within' so it looks like they're gonna call the game: Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within. However, maybe I'm blind but I failed to see it called that on the site. Mayhap they changed it back to 2? I guess we'll find out later when the game ships in November. :p

Gamespot posted up a preview of the upcoming Bard's Tale RPG. Before you go over there you can read this teaser clip:One of the new areas we visited was the besieged town of Dounby, which gets overrun by a sect of vengeful, hooded druids. The druids aren't especially big fans of the bard and blast him and his companions with energy bolts and a snaring spell that immobilizes its target. In this and other battles, we saw that it's possible to simply summon tough allies and let them bear the brunt of the attack, especially if your bard has a bow, which can be used to pick off enemies from a distance. So now you can go read the full preview!

HardwareZoom has a review posted online for the Gigabyte 3D Rocket Cooler. The 3D Rocket Cooler has a smooth copper base to ensure efficient heat transfer from the CPU to the heatsink. The four copper heatpipes that emerged from the copper base contain fluid which will change to gaseous state as it absorb heat, this latent heat of evaporation will increase the overall heat capacity of the fluid. The heat pipes provide the best thermal conductivity because vapour will travel upwards quickly and dissipate heat via the large surface area formed by 54 pieces of aluminium fins stack on top of each other. Check out the review if your interested in CPU coolers and the like.

I don't know if I'll go see AvP or just wait till the DVD comes along but anyhow The Adrenaline Vault has a review for Alien vs. Predator and here is a piece of it:The fights between Alien and Predator are great to see, and feature a lot of memorable moments. The only problem is that the dark setting makes some of the best parts of the movie too difficult to tell exactly what's happening. This is certainly true for the first Alien / Predator slugfest, where two grayish-blackish blobs are rolling around for several minutes. The action is easier to see later on, so don't get discouraged. So now you just have to figure out if you want to go see it or not if you haven't already.

Gamespot has a preview online for Bloodrayne II. So here is a snip from the preview:When melee combat isn't enough to kill your foes, you'll be able to use Rayne's trusty guns, which are very different from those found in the original game. While the guns are initially pretty pedestrian single-shot weapons, you can upgrade them to fire a variety of different rounds that range from shotgun-style spread shots to explosives and rockets. The twist to the guns is their ammo, which is blood. Much like Rayne can feed off of her foes to refill her health bar, it will be possible to fill your guns by sticking your foes with them--much like sticking a spout into an oil can. The guns will have their own reservoir, but once it's drained, the guns will drain Rayne's health. Terminal Reality says that Bloodrayne II will be out for Halloween on Xbox and Playstation with a PC version soon to follow.

computerandvideogames.com has a preview for Ubisoft's Prince Of Persia 2. Check out this piece of the preview:Ubisoft, which is producing PoP2 in-house, has certainly listened to fans' criticisms of the original game and appears to have made every effort to address them. The three key areas it identified are the combat system, which it cited as "redundant, repetitive and superficial in depth", the lack of major boss battles and finally, improving the game's replay value. How has the company got on? Well a quick shufty at the game in action reveals... Well you'll just have to read on to find out more. Croteam went and posted up thier Bi-Monthly Report, Issue #18 of which is short and very technical. Each engine uses some system to determine which objects on the scene are visible to player, those should be rendered, and which one are not. It is very important to reject as much as possible unnecessary details, but it is also important not to spend much time doing it. Less time engine spends in rejecting not visible details, more time is left for what is actually visible to player - graphic details, physics, AI… Just go and hit the Croteam site for the rest of it.

Groovalicious Games has thier version of a review uploaded for The Suffering:Such a game finally arrives this year in the form of The Suffering, a horror-survival game that's high on the action factor. It doesn't have the glitz (or the marketing department) of a Far Cry or a Doom III, but in terms of pure gaming enjoyment it's easily in the same realm as those higher-budgeted titles. Well it sounds interesting enough but I don't see it on the shelf here in Canada..

gamespy.com has The Bard's Tale developer diary vol seven uploaded. Here is a cut and paste job from the full article:Early on in the design, we decided that rather than traditional spells like "fireball" and "lightning bolt," we would instead have unique ally characters, similar to pets. Where most games let one type of character summon one pet at a time (say a necromancer can summon a skeleton), our game would allow you to fill out a party with summoned allies. And each ally would have different abilities, hit points, and personalities. Over the course of the game, you have the opportunity to find up to 16 different tunes, each representing a different avatar. These tunes are divided into four basic areas: fighters, elementals, defenders, and utilities. Each of these tunes can be upgraded to improve the statistics and abilities of those avatars. Get the full read on this RPG right here. LOL@Vorpal Rat.... well you have to read the article.

Sitting right there on ActionTrip is a new preview for Prince Of Persia 2. Now for a quote from the preview:Visually, the game is quite impressive (even in comparison with the Sands of Time, which was one of the best looking console games last year). However, the game has a much darker look and feel than previous PoP titles, which is less than a surprise after Mikael Labat's (designer) statement that the team found inspiration in the Silent Hill series. The levels bear a grim mood, and the protagonist has turned from a nice and cheerful prince into a serious, silent and skilled warrior with a tattoo and a chaotic hairdo. Instead of the combination of sword and dagger, he now uses two swords, but he also has other weapons at disposal. Ubisoft is rumored to be considering long-ranged weapons, but no details have yet been disclosed. According to the article Prince Of Persia 2 is slated to come out in November this year and will be for PC, PS2, Xbox and Gamecube.

ActionTrip interviewed Kevin Lambert the lead designer from Gass Powered Games on the upcoming Dungeon Siege II. Here is a clip from the article:I'd love to tell you about some specific powers, but we don't really want to spoil the cool element of discovery with how powers can be used in different situations. In fact, I'm sure players will be able to discover even more clever uses of powers than we originally intended. One interesting combination that I like to use though is to start with a particularly effective Power that has a drawback of leaving a character vulnerable and then combo it with a defensive Power that can negate the drawback, giving extra mileage out of the defensive Power. Be sure to read both pages of the interview.

Here is a snapshot from the interview:Going deeper into the fight system, we are also giving the Prince the ability to fight with two swords. We've freed up one hand that was taken up by the dagger. And then the Prince also has the ability to steal secondary weapons from enemies using cool moves - like strangulation moves - which is really what I call intuitive gameplay. This is giving depth to the fight system. Theres also a few screenshots to view but you need to register to check out the big pics..

It seems everybody these days is looking for a new video card, especially with Doom 3 just around the corner and Half-Life II on the near horizon. So anyways, Rage3D has a totally new review up for the Sapphire Toxic X800 Pro (Radeon). Heres a snippage from the review: The first thing that you notice about the Toxic is the cooling unit, not only for its overwhelming size but also for its odd colour as well. A bright semi-transparent orange with a dark purple fan, the Toxic cooler is even more shocking when you finally manage to notice the blue circuit board its mounted on. What's funny about this combination is that it actually works and even manages to convey the whole "Toxic" theme pretty darn well. Take in the rest of the review.
