According to IGN there is still a chance that Ninja Gaiden will ship this holiday. Previously, it was thought that the game had slipped into 2004, but with Tecmo pushing DOA: Online into next year, they need something to push for the holiday rush. On top of that, many other Xbox titles have also pushed into 2004 which gives Tecmo even more pressure to get this game out the door this year. When we have more concrete evidence of when the game will actually ship, we'll let you know.
Take note, Ninja Gaiden will also ship with the original three classic Ninja Gaiden games. Hell, that might be worth the price of admission on its own!

Some years ago, Life Of Agony disbanded, leaving behind a cult following and a very cool and original sound. Although the band reunited to film a live concert for an upcoming DVD, I don't think anyone expected to see this.(Blabbermouth) Reunited New York metallers LIFE OF AGONY have announced their plans to record a new studio album, tentatively due in late 2004. Speaking to HitThePit.com, drummer Sal Abruscato said, "I foresee the new material being like 'This Time' times ten. A bit more aggressive, and written better at the same time… More appealing to everyone in the world! This is certainly good news for those of us who remember how great this band was. I think I'll give some of their tunes a spin right now.

As reported on Blue's News, John Carmack recently responded to a quick question posted by BonusWeb.cx concerning DOOM 3, ATI vs. Nvidia cards using DirectX 9:Unfortunately, it will probably be representative of most DX9 games. Doom has a custom back end that uses the lower precisions on the GF-FX, but when you run it with standard fragment programs just like ATI, it is a lot slower. The precision doesn't really matter to Doom, but that won't be a reasonable option in future games designed around DX9 level hardware as a minimum spec. Head to NewDoom.com for up-to-the-minute DOOM news and community doings.
'Let It Be' To Be Stripped Naked

Apple Corps, The Beatles' representative company has announced that a new version of the Let It Be album is set to be released.(Yahoo!News) Let It Be...Naked strips the 1969 album of Phil Spector's lavish production effects, returning to Sir Paul McCartney's original idea for the recording. "This is the noise we made in the studio," McCartney said of the new version. "It's exactly as it was in the room. You're right there now."
Let It Be...Naked mostly keeps the same track listing as the original album, which featured songs Let It Be, The Long and Winding Road, Get Back and Across the Universe (edit.: a John Lennon-penned song).
Most of Let It Be was recorded in 1969 for an album which was to have been called Get Back, showing The Beatles returning to their roots as a four-piece rock-and-roll band. But the group was splitting up and the album was abandoned.
Spector was later brought in to convert hundreds of hours of tape into an album, renamed Let It Be.
Ringo Starr told Rolling Stone magazine earlier this year: "Paul was always totally opposed to Phil (edit.: Spector, who originally [over-]produced the album with lavish string arrangements, etc.). I told him on the phone (recently), `You're bloody right again. It sounds great without Phil.' Which it does." This is the truly back-to-basics approach, as Sir Paul originally envisioned. Background dialogue, Dig It and Maggie Mae have been taken off the album, and Don't Let Me Down has been added. Let It Be...Naked is to be released by EMI Records on November 17.

As of today you should see WWE Raw 2: Ruthless Aggression on store shelves in the US. This game looks to be the best looking grappler on the market. The gameplay looks to be better than the last Xbox Raw game, but it still remains to be seen how good the control actually is. Some great new features this year include an updated roster, custom soundtracks, four player season mode, and tons more match types. Xbox gamers looking for a good wrestling game should definitely run out and grab this title as it looks to be quite solid.

Xbox Live users should make it a point to log onto the Live service via the dashboard because you'll be seeing some nice new changes. The brand new dashboard lets you voice chat with friends outside of games, gets news updates about Xbox Live as well as providing all the options you had available before. I actually have not seen this announced on Xbox.com or other major sites, but I just happened to have the system update while I booted up my Xbox earlier. Live is continuing to get even cooler!

Jack Bauer has a new young sidekick named Chace, Kim Bauer has a nice new job at CTU as a computer tech, President Palmer has lived through his assassination attempt but look for his health to be a factor this season. What's going to happen on this day? Well, we'll just have to watch and find out. The season premiere airs commercial free on October 28th on FOX.

The Beatles Take A Bite Out Of Apple

The Beatles' record company, Apple Corps Ltd., is suing Apple Computer for violating a 1991 agreement by entering the music business with its iTunes online store. According to Yahoo! News:When Steve Jobs co-founded Apple Computer in 1977, he is said to have chosen the name in part as a tribute to the Beatles. The 1991 agreement dealt with the future use of the name "Apple" and of both companies' well-known logos.
Apple Corps, founded in 1968, is owned by Sir Paul McCartney; Ringo Starr; John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono; and the estate of George Harrison. It sued on July 4, about a month after Apple Computer launched its iTunes Music Store, a download music service.
In 1981, the Beatles, who had released most of their recordings on the Apple label, sued Apple Computer over the corporate name. The case ended after the tech company agreed to only use the name for computer products, according to Apple Corps.
A decade later, the Beatles sued again, alleging Apple Computer was violating the initial agreement by using its apple logo on music-synthesizing products. That case was settled out of court with Apple Computer paying an undisclosed amount to the Beatles company and signing the agreement around which the latest lawsuit revolves.
Terms of the 1991 settlement were kept confidential, with Apple Computer allotting $38 million at the time to settle the litigation. Obviously, it's not about money, as far as the surviving Beatles are concerned. When you think of Apple and music, anyone who is familiar with The Beatles (and who isn't?) naturally associates the two. And Apple Computer is obviously well aware of this by now. As pointed out in the article, "They (Apple Computer) must have thought about this because (the name) 'Apple Music Store' has more brand equity (than iTunes Music Store)."

According to Superhero Hype, as well as Fox News Channel, where I caught the announcement, Christian Bale, of American Psycho infamy, has been cast in the starring role of Bruce Wayne in Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming Batman. The movie is to be directed by Christopher Nolan, of the excellent film, Memento (one of my very favorites). I think Christian Bale definitely has the sharp, exaggerated features for the comic book alter-egos, and with Christopher Nolan directing, this new era in the series is sounding interesting, indeed. Maybe now we can finally begin to forget all about those horrible Joel Schumacher abominations!

Konami gives gamers in Japan another reason to buy Castlevania: Lament Of Innocence (as if they needed another reason). They plan to bundle the game with the soundtrack for the game. Konami recently did this with the US release of Silent Hill 3. Anyone who knows Castlevania knows that the soundtracks are usually pure gold. Symphony Of The Night is one of the coolest soundtracks in my personal collection. No word yet on if the soundtrack will be available in the US release of the game or not. US gets Lament Of Innocence on October 28th and Japan gets the game on November 27th. That's still not soon enough!

No word yet on a price for the bundle or what kind of additions/graphical updates will be in the set. I'm still wondering how they got past the exclusive contract with Sony. Either way, Xbox gamers have been waiting a long time for this and hopefully it will be worth the waiting period.
